Specialization Course in Nutrition and Hormonal Health in Women

The specialization course in Nutrition and Hormonal Health in Women was born from the need to answer many questions that arise in medical and nutritional consultations, since in many protocols and in university teachings several relevant aspects that can significantly affect the quality of life of women are not taken into account, and also the fact of not talking about them makes them taboo.

For this reason, in this course we have grouped together all the most important and useful aspects that must be taken into account so that health professionals can do their job better. Problems that arise both in the nutrition practice and in the medical practice.

In the course we will approach from female physiology and the female hormonal system, from everything there is to know about menstruation, menopause, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, lactation, nutritional requirements, amenorrhea, menopause, etc. We will look at the different types of contraceptives, possible problems and if there is variation in nutritional requirements, pathologies such as PCOS, endometriosis, etc.

The focus of this course will be totally practical since the teachers are professionals who are dedicated to it on a daily basis:

- María Fraile: Dietitian-Nutritionist and Lcda. in Pharmacy, with private practice specializing in clinical nutrition and working as head of hospital pharmacy in different hospitals. Wide experience in nutrition and hormonal health in women, endometriosis, candidiasis, etc.

- Dr.Álvaro Campillo: Physician-Surgeon working in the hospital, in different mutual insurance companies and in 2 own clinics.

- Victor Robledo: Dietician with a private practice in which he attends patients with hormonal problems such as amenorrhea, PCOS, etc.

Due to the fact that a significant part of the course content is updated each year, the description of each topic's points is for guidance only. The written syllabus is also complementary to the classes, where many additional points may be covered.

Practical exercise for developing dietary guidelines for clinical cases related to the latest topics. The diet will be created using ICNS Nutrition Software.

Learning Objectives

  • Study the most frequent pathologies and problems in clinical practice and develop nutritional strategies in the clinical setting.
  • To provide students with practical tools for coping in clinical practice.
  • To conduct clinical sessions and document real cases.

Target audience

  • Course especially recommended for doctors, dietitians, nutritionists, dietitians, nurses and pharmacists.
  • Recommendable also for other health profiles such as physiotherapists, chemists and biologists who want to deepen their knowledge of women's health.

Postgraduate and continuing education programs are intended as specialization training, and are designed to complement previous training. Although postgraduate and continuing education programs generally admit students from different curricular plans, encouraging interdisciplinary knowledge, the professional practice of the different health professions requires the possession of a university degree in each specialty. Postgraduate and continuing education programs at universities or institutes do not qualify students to practice professionally as physicians, psychologists, nutritionists, etc.

Student reviews

I have taken this course for the second time since the syllabus was slightly different from the first edition I took.
I love that ICNS is always up to date with new research in Nutrition, and I've learned things I can start applying with my patients.
I would always recommend ICNS and its professionals. Thank you for the training!!
Raquel Lucio Osorio, Dietitian
I'm loving it, I'm in the last class of the course, and I find it super interesting and a course that more than one professional should take, since it's important to keep knowledge updated, and that's what the professors do - they explain new studies and base their content on current developments.I'm delighted.
Pilar, Nutrition student
I had never taken a course before, and I was pleasantly surprised, both by the development of the classes and the book they send you with the entire syllabus. In October, I'll continue my training here.
Raquel, Dietitian-Nutritionist
I really liked the course. I think the content was well distributed and very complete. It helped me a lot to deepen my knowledge in this subject, which I find fascinating and to which I would like to dedicate myself in the future. The thing I liked the least was the schedule. I would have preferred it to be during the week in the late afternoon or even on Saturday morning. With it being on Saturday afternoons, it was impossible for me to attend live, so I had to watch it later.
Alba López , Pharmacist and Nutritionist
Excellent course with highly qualified professionals. Excellent organization and management by ICNS.
Claudia, Dietitian
I really enjoyed the course! I learned a lot about women's hormonal health with excellent professionals.
Maria José Pons Bahamonde , Nutritionist and Physiotherapist
I found the course super interesting; the instructors are top-notch and the overall dynamic is very good. I'm a working mom with two babies, and my logistics are complicated to keep up to date, but even so, I had no trouble keeping pace, so I totally recommend it.
Bárbara Carrasco Garrido , Dietitian-Nutritionist
This is a course I recommend 100%, both for its content and the entire teaching team. The classes are very enjoyable and not boring at all. I learned things that were completely unknown to me. This is the third course I've taken with you, and I'm already thinking about the next one. My only doubt is whether to choose the Master's in Endocrinology or the one in Intestinal Pathology.

Congratulations to the teaching team because they are top-notch.
Meritxell González Malato , Nurse and Dietitian
A very comprehensive course, covering all the important topics to be able to help women in consultations, who have been so overlooked in science.

The professors are incredibly high-quality, very knowledgeable, and know how to convey it.

In addition to being complete, the professors are always willing to help you and answer questions without any problem.

Also, the people behind the scenes providing technical support and more are top-notch.

I will definitely take more courses with them. They are very necessary to be able to help better.
Irantzu Arbizu Matilla, Dietitian
Transparent and useful information.

Whether or not you have studies in health sciences, the information provided in the course is truly practical to refine and refresh essential theory for managing nutrition and dietetic-nutritional plans for women in all stages of the life cycle. However, to inform yourself from scratch and see what we must know to work in this field, I also find taking the course truly interesting.

Easy to follow and understand, but with scientific evidence in hand to formalize all the information received.
Alberto Cañete, Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics
I liked it because it was specific in many things that are useful for my daily work as a pharmacist and nutritionist. Knowing about the different stages a woman goes through during her life is super important to be able to advise and assist with greater rigor.
Paula, Pharmacist and Nutritionist
Incredible course. I had been waiting a long time-if not years-to be able to enroll, and it was completely worth it. It was much more than I expected, with very complete topics and highly interactive classes. I learned a lot and I hope to enroll in another course to continue developing in my profession.
Daniela Camacho, Nutritionist-Dietitian
This is the first training I've done with you and it's definitely not going to be the last. For me, this course marks a before and after. The professors are wonderful; they always speak from their own practical experience, as well as basing themselves on data and scientific research. As for the course content, it's super complete. I would recommend ICNS to anyone who wants to expand their knowledge and see nutrition from a different perspective.
Andrea Díaz Aparicio, Dietitian
Excellent course, excellent professionals. It has been a pleasure, and I have learned a lot in a short time. It has given me great practical tools to apply daily in nutritional consultations.
Sofía viera , Degree in Nutrition
I enrolled in this course because many cases come to my practice that I’m not sure how to handle, as they didn’t explain them to us during my degree, and there is a lot of mixed information online.
I always referred them to other colleagues specialized in these issues, but I wanted to learn about them and gain confidence, and that’s exactly what happened thanks to this wonderful course, which cleared all my doubts and gave me the confidence to handle these cases. So far, all of them have been progressing successfully. Thank you.
Marta Hernández, Dietitian-Nutritionist
This is the second time I've studied with ICNS. I decided to take this course to keep learning about nutrition and hormonal health. As always, the professors are realistic and up to date; they provide many useful tools for practice, and it's a pleasure to have class with them.
Sandra Cordero, Dietitian-Nutritionist
I loved the course; it was intense with a lot of useful and practical information that I started applying in my consultations from day one.
Magda Prieto, Dietitian
I took this course from France, and it met the expectations I had for it. I learned what I felt I needed to learn to complement the services in my nutrition practice. The information is based on scientific evidence, and the teachers also share their consulting experience, which makes the information truly valuable.
Claire Bernard, Nutritionist
This is the third course I’ve taken at ICNS (I did the master’s in clinical nutrition and endocrinology, and the obesity course), and as expected, it does not disappoint at all. I took the course instead of the master’s, which was more complete, but I couldn’t dedicate that much time this year, and I have been very satisfied with the classes, the activities we have done, and ultimately, with what I have learned. If I have more time later, I would like to take the master’s.
Angélica Rodríguez, Dietitian-Nutritionist
I found it very interesting and very useful to apply in my profession.
Noelia, Nutritionist
I loved the course. The professors know what they are talking about; they speak with substance and in a clear and concise manner. They are very up-to-date, and it's appreciated.Next year I will surely take another course or even a Master's.Thank you very much!
Anna
I loved it. I couldn't attend all the live online classes, but I watched them later on demand. I think it's an extremely complete course, so I can only thank you.
Ana
Excellent course with highly qualified professionals. Excellent organization and management by ICNS.
Claudia, Dietitian
I loved it. I couldn't attend all the live online classes, but I watched them later on demand. I think it's an extremely complete course, so I can only thank you.
Ana
If you are looking for attentive professionals who teach women's specialized nutrition based on updated scientific evidence, this is your place. A 10/10 course with a platform and resources that I will not stop recommending. A trusted place to which I will return later for more training.
Lucía, Biologist and Dietitian
A super complete course. I'm very grateful for the syllabus, the classes, and above all for the teachers-you can tell they enjoy their profession. For me, it's been all advantages and I haven't had any drawbacks. In fact, I'm eager to start a Master's soon, once I've finished my degree.

Thank you very much, ICNS team!
Judit, Nutrition
I loved the specialization in women's nutrition and hormonal health-very interesting! The teachers show great interest in answering students' questions. They have provided us with all kinds of information and recommendations in the forum, in addition to the course content. You need to dedicate time to it because of the extensive syllabus, but overall, the classes are quite enjoyable. It's a very complete course, and if you enjoy it, it's very manageable. Thank you!!
Isabel Monje, Physiotherapy
Wonderful, the next one will be the Master's in Clinical and Endocrinology. I definitely plan to invest in continuing my education with you.
Carmen
I really enjoyed the course. The professors in each module are clearly great professionals willing to make the class enjoyable and to answer any questions that arise. The course content is very well organized, and the best part is that classes are held on weekends, making it possible to attend live, as well as to watch them later recorded on the platform. I recommend this ICNS training. Thank you!
Noe Fernández , Dietitian
Hello, I finished the course delighted, and in fact, I will take others again!
Updated information with many ideas to work with patients.
All the professors are wonderful, with extensive training, and you can tell they love what they do.
Thank you!
Maria, Dietitian
For any Dietitian-Nutritionist, it is necessary to take continuing education or specialization courses constantly. Personally, I have taken courses with several postgraduate institutes, and for me, ICNS is by far the most complete!!
Very extensive syllabi with detailed information, practical cases, and, in addition, in each module, an online class is held to explain the content, where you can ask questions and interact with professors, doctors, trainers, etc.
Thank you always for your help and for staying at the forefront in the field of NUTRITION and SPORTS.
Josep Montoliu Arevalo, Dietitian, Nutritionist, and Personal Trainer
The classes with María Fraile were truly wonderful-super useful, practical. She gave us tools to learn how to conduct consultations, excellent tips. I feel I learned a lot from her. I loved the inclusion of food lists and recipes, essential oils, clear and above all useful guidelines for designing a diet.
Sasha, Dietitian
One of the best expert courses I have taken in my already extensive professional career.
The course structure makes it easy to follow, but without a doubt the best part is the professionalism and the incredibly broad knowledge of the instructors.
I have no doubt I will take another course or a master's program as soon as I can.
Thank you very much, ICNS
Malena , Physiotherapist
I loved everything-the classes, the teachers, the notes-everything was a 10. I'm already thinking about which course I'll take next.
Sara, Dietitian
This specialization course in women's health contains very valuable content with up-to-date information, made even more beneficial by the interactions with specialist professors, who, both during class and in a common Q&A forum, continue answering very clearly and thoroughly any questions, including clinical cases from students, with excellent material delivery. I was also pleasantly surprised by the menu application software they have. Highly recommended! You can also get a lot out of the extra classes that are uploaded for free in the classroom.
Rosa Annunziata, Clinical Nutritionist
I found the course to be excellent. All the seminars were very well explained, and each professor gave their best. They answer all questions. What I liked most is that they are professors who constantly keep themselves updated. I would definitely recommend it to everyone, as I learned a lot. I will definitely take more courses with them. Also, the software is very helpful, and the final activity they assign really helps you learn how to handle a real clinical case.

Thank you for these months.
Noelia Arenas Olmo, Physiotherapist and Dietitian
This specialization course in women's health has very valuable content with up-to-date information, made even more beneficial by the interactions you can have with the specialist professors, who, both during class and in a common Q&A forum, continue answering very clearly and thoroughly to any question, including clinical cases that students have, with excellent material delivery. Likewise, I was very pleasantly surprised by the menu application software they have. Highly recommended! You can also get a lot out of the extra classes that are uploaded for free in the classroom.
Rosa Annunziata, Clinical Nutritionist
I enrolled in the course to get started in the field of nutrition specifically aimed at women, as it has always been a weaker area in my usual practice.
I expected the typical lesson on the physiology of the female reproductive system, hormones, and so on (I suppose it's typical in every medical class to start there), but I found six classes of pure practical and direct knowledge about nutrition.
Ignacio, Specialist Doctor in Family Medicine
I loved the expert program and the organization of the syllabus and classes.
I found the knowledge very useful for daily practice.
I wanted a holistic approach to women's health, and I really liked it.
Patricia, Midwife
I loved it. The teachers are good professionals-well-trained and up to date-who instilled great knowledge for our professional practice. Blessings to everyone at ICNS.
Shirley Geomar Poveda Navarrete, Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition & Midwife
Very interesting! The professors are always willing to help.
They give you examples seen in daily practice. In addition, they offer a lot of bibliography for further reading.
The software is very didactic to use in consultations.
Milagros Sierra, Specialist Doctor in Endocrinology and Nutrition
I found it a very complete course through which we were able to go deeper into many concepts related to pathologies affecting women. The classes were very dynamic and full of practical examples, which, in my opinion, greatly favors the consolidation of many concepts. The evaluation activities were appropriate for the required level.
Regarding the course format, it offered a lot of flexibility to watch the classes, and we had about one month to complete the test for each topic.
Without a doubt, a highly recommended training program.
Marta Bosch Mir
A course, as always, very interesting, with good content, and it has helped me improve my consultations, both in quality and in concepts. Most importantly, it has given me tools to help my patients and improve their quality of life as much as possible.
Patricia Cubillos Quiles, Dietitian
A very complete and also very enjoyable course. I loved the classes; they were very didactic. It is a very practical course for the professional work I do since I am a nurse/nutritionist, and I hope to take more courses with you. The teaching team is outstanding.
María José Bastida Muñoz, Nurse and Nutritionist
I really loved it. The course is very detail-oriented in some aspects; for example, regarding pathologies, a lot of information was provided, and the professors focused on practicality at all times. Very satisfied, I will definitely take another course.
Marta, Student of the Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics
Overall, I am satisfied with the course. The online classes were what I liked the most because they were engaging, the professors provided relevant information, and no time was wasted-something I value, since some courses tend to get sidetracked.
It is true that some nutrition information I had already studied before; however, I have gained new knowledge I did not know. Above all, I value the approach taken by the professionals who taught the course-from objectivity, practicality, and scientific rigor, but prioritizing the conclusions derived from their experience in consultations/clinical practice, which I personally find much more useful and accurate. Thanks also to the professors for generously recommending reading materials.
Maite, Dietitian
I'm finding the course super interesting (I haven't finished it yet). It's very complete and the professors keep you engaged. The classes are long because the syllabus is extensive, but they are very enjoyable, and being able to ask questions is very enriching because you also learn from the doubts that arise. In addition, additional material is shared through the forum, which is very much appreciated. It's a course that requires dedication, but I'm enjoying it a lot.
Edurne Ventana, Dietitian Student
I'm delighted with the course. If you want to keep learning about nutrition, women's health-related diseases, and menopause, I recommend it 100%. The professors are excellent and always help you with your questions!!
Lorena , Nutritionist
The course was very complete; the teachers addressed each topic in depth with dynamic lectures.
Dzoara Hirales
I'm finishing my Degree in Pharmacy, and afterwards I want to study nutrition, but while I finish I decided to start specializing in this area I love so much. I believe that in the women's field, nutrition is a world in itself. In this course, I have learned so much; the classes are very dynamic, and the professors are charming and highly committed. Although the classes themselves and the book provided are very complete, there is also a forum where they add much more content and where you can solve any questions you have; they even add new studies that can help you.
In short, I will not hesitate to take the master's or even more courses and master's programs with them.
Estela del Carmen Espinosa Lozano, Pharmacy Student at UGR
I loved it. I couldn't attend all the live online classes, but I watched them later on demand. I think it's an extremely complete course, so I can only thank you.
Ana
I found it very interesting and of high quality; in my opinion, the content and quality of the materials are of a very high standard. The class format and the teaching methodology make it very engaging and you learn a lot. But without a doubt, for me the best part of the course is the female professor and the two male professors; it has been a pleasure to be in class with them as you can tell they are active health professionals. They not only explain the content but also invite you to fully enter the reality of healthcare and the nutritional profile of patients.
Alba Mª Jordán Arruej, Trainer, Dietitian, and Physical Education Teacher
Good day, dear professors
I found the course very interesting and complete. The classes are punctual, clear, and engaging. From my side, there is nothing I would change. In fact, I am already thinking of enrolling in another specialization course with you.
Congratulations and greetings from Ecuador.
Paulina Ocaña Almagro, Doctor
A 10 out of 10. I loved it from start to finish: the teachers, the notes, the classes, and the platform. I feel I have trained better with this course than with the actual Advanced Degree in Dietetics. I will definitely repeat.
Rosel, Dietetics Student
I loved it, professors rated 10 out of 10. A super-updated syllabus and real professionals. This is the third course I have taken with them.
Leticia , Dietitian
A postgraduate course I totally recommend. Thanks to the professors for their work. I am very satisfied with everything I have learned.
Pamela Villalobos , Nutritionist
A very complete course with the necessary information to be able to practically apply the knowledge with patients.
The classes are very dynamic and easily accessible after they are finished, so you can review them.
Communication with the professors is quick and easy through the forums.
There is also plenty of extra content to apply both in consultations and on a personal level to manage your business.
Pedro, Firefighter / Dietitian
Fantastic. Wonderful professors. It leaves you wanting more. Already looking into the next course to enroll in.
Ana, Dietitian
This is a course where you learn a lot.
It's the first time I've taken it, and honestly, I loved it.
Due to work, I couldn't connect to the online classes, but they were perfectly saved with all the comments made during class.
The professors are amazing; they give their personal opinion, share books, techniques, and tips that are very useful for day-to-day life.
You have a full month from the date of the class to complete each test, which makes it much easier and allows you to balance it perfectly with your work.
Overall, I am very happy and satisfied with my results!!!
Thanks to the entire ICNS team!
Beatriz
I really enjoyed it; the instructors were very attentive, knew how to explain things, and made themselves understood. The academy was recommended to me, and they weren't wrong. I'm left with a good impression, even though I'm not deeply involved in the dietetics labor field, but it has been useful for my own knowledge.
Beatriz Jimena Valladares Conza
My experience has been very positive; the course provided me with specific knowledge that is difficult to find and acquire through other means. In my opinion, the professors are active professionals with a lot of experience, which they convey in class, giving the course extra value. I am very grateful for the additional bibliography. Looking forward to starting another course!
Verónica , Dietitian
Specialized course where I was able to learn things that were never mentioned during my degree. In addition, you can see that the faculty is highly specialized in the subject and helps you with any questions you may have.
Omayra, Pharmacist and Nutritionist
This is the second year I've expanded my knowledge and strategies with ICNS, and with this course I've continued learning and finding very up-to-date scientific literature and some top-notch instructors. The forums for each class welcome all kinds of questions-whether class-related, personal, or professional-and help you apply and understand different situations and moments that women experience at various stages of life.
Teresa Mas de Xaxars
Excellent course. I learned a lot about hormones and nutrition, as I am helping a community of women in menopause and I am very interested in how hormones work in our bodies as menopausal women.
I loved the professors, very approachable, and their explanations in class were excellent. Personally, I want to continue studying at this wonderful institute. I 100% recommend studying at the Institute.
Thank you from the heart for everything!
Adina , Mentor for Women in Menopause https://www.instagram.com/mujeresenmenopausia/
The Specialization Course in Nutrition and Hormonal Health in Women is the second course I've taken with ICNS, and I love it. I still have the Obesity and Eating Disorders course pending. The syllabus is perfect, well referenced, and up to date. The professors are amazing, very approachable, and you can tell that, aside from knowing exactly what they're talking about, they are passionate and love what they do. I don't know-these things show. I will always recommend them!
Francisco Javier Díaz Gutiérrez , Dietitian
Incredible, like all the others. Up to date, top-level professionals, great student support with doubt resolution. Everything is super personalized-they're simply the best, that's it. This makes it 3 courses and a master's, and I will continue. Thank you for everything.
Beatriz, Nutritionist / Clinical Analyst
