ICNS receives the Excellence Award as a Leading Postgraduate Education School Specialized in Nutrition and Health, from the newspaper La Razón
On September 26, 2023, ICNS received the Excellence Award for the Reference Training Center Specializing in Nutrition and Health, awarded by the newspaper La Razón.

The award was collected by María Fraile Guerra and Dr. Álvaro Campillo, and was presented by Francisco Marhuenda, the director of the newspaper.

On October 4, the following article was published in print and digital media:

ICNS (Instituto de Ciencias de Nutrición y Salud) is a postgraduate institute of health sciences oriented to health professionals. There, they offer Master's programs and other postgraduate degrees, as well as continuing education programs. "Our goal is to train practicing healthcare professionals, as well as people who have finished their undergraduate degree and need to acquire the clinical competence necessary for their job, or a more competitive curriculum by specializing in ICNS," they note from the institute. "ICNS was born out of the need to provide healthcare personnel with the clinical orientation necessary to develop their work, something that is generally not well addressed in university programs. ICNS is an evolution from previous training projects, which allowed us to trust our vision, and we decided to grow in 2015 with the ICNS team. Today we have thousands of students training with us every year."

And this growth bears fruit beyond academics, such as the Excellence Award for the Reference Training Center Specializing in Nutrition and Health that was collected by María Fraile Guerra, academic coordinator and professor, and Dr. Álvaro Campillo, Master's director and professor at ICNS. "It is nice that real-life projects are valued, and this award is an incentive that comes at a very good time for us. We are happy for all the people who have been working at ICNS for years because it is a reward for hard work, and for having managed to be true to our principles from day one. Also for our students. It is a source of pride for all of us."

Pioneering methodology.
"The university training model has known, and increasingly less concealable, problems. ICNS brought together a group of people who were able to see these problems many years ago, when going against the grain was not so easy, and were not afraid to think differently. Success has simply been the consequence of a sincere vision that we believed in, and of working hard at it," ICNS recalls.

And the result of this risky bet is a postgraduate training that is difficult to find in most universities, particularly at the level of clinical nutrition, neurosciences, digestive pathologies, eating disorders, etc. With, also, scientific methodology training and world-class speakers. "It is really interesting everything that is behind these almost 10 years. In general, the student feels comfortable simply because he or she finds classes in the form of clinical sessions that address what he or she needs for day-to-day life. From the first day they are immersed in a training oriented to their daily reality with professors who have a high level of clinical experience and a high academic level in important issues".

On the other hand, ICNS was a pioneer in blended learning methodology, so the study is done through live videoconferencing. This brings together the best of the face-to-face and online worlds. "We have our own team of computer programmers who have created our entire educational platform, and whose functionality is completely adapted to our teaching needs in a dynamic way. We have also developed probably the best nutrition software on the market, with unprecedented functionalities for consultation that facilitate the development of nutritional plans, including the application with which the patient can communicate with their doctor or nutritionist from their smartphone, view the menus that have been designed for them, and even design their own menu under the guidelines that have been provided to them if they have so agreed."

Our goal from day one was to offer the best quality training in healthcare, and it remains the main idea at the forefront of our minds. Therefore, we are committed to continue to offer training that is clinically oriented, scientific, critical of what needs to be criticized, and entertaining for the learner. We believe we have achieved this very complex balance. We have a big year ahead of us, and we want to keep improving.
.
We are always updating the syllabus, updating some of the classes in the programs that we see necessary, etc. Additionally, this year we will be expanding our software projects. We have a challenging year ahead of us.

On the other hand, 30% of our students are from outside Spain, and we expect our institute to continue to grow, particularly in South America. As in Spain, we want to be the postgraduate institute of reference for acquiring the scientific and clinical competence that healthcare professionals need in their daily work. We also face the challenge of adapting to today's complex educational circumstances.
